I have never been this overwhelmed with school.
My eyes opened me up to reality as soon as I set foot on a different world.
I looked like a lost wanderer in a sea of people moving to and fro inside the campus.
Everything I thought college would be is not what and how it actually is. In this world, you have to be aggressive to get what you want. You have to fight for it.
And so I bid goodbye to the other side of me—the shy girl that I’ve always been. I have to make sacrifices and I have to let go in order to make way for opportunities. I have to try, even though it is hard. This is no time to hide inside my barrier. I have to break free, one way or another; or I would remain forever far away from my dreams.
And then as luck would have it, I finally met them—the ones who’ll lead me towards my dreams.
Just like that, I felt like I was back in the world that I know. Every moment spent with them makes me feel no less than a high school student. And amidst the difficulties along the way, the smiles and encouragements made us continue trudging down our chosen paths.
My heart and mind is filled with optimism as I look forward to the exciting things I’ll be learning everyday—be it good or bad. Colors once again filled my life as I realize that there is much more to discover and unravel; I was like a curious kid, just starting to learn her ABCs.
I am still the same me as before, however, a part of me has also changed—or rather, matured. Step by step, with these accumulated experiences, I am starting to blossom into the kind of adult I thought I’d never become.
Maybe I was really meant to be this kind of person, and it just wasn’t the right time yet. But maybe, someone or something up there finally decided that it was time for me to become the person that I was meant to be. Amazing, isn’t it, how everything is suddenly unfolding now? Even I, myself, can’t believe my own realizations either. However, one thing is for sure—everything will fall into place when the right time comes.
You don’t have to think too much and you don’t have to be too harsh on yourself either. All you have to do is to just go with the flow of life. Don’t be afraid to try new things; open your heart and mind to every opportunity there is in life, because eventually, things are going to unfold the way it should—at the right time.
