Rising star Nicholas "Axe Man" Walters showed his god-given knock out power by knocking out Nonito "Filipino Flash" Donaire with a right hand in Round six.
Walters (25-0, 21KOs) overpowered Donaire (33-3, 21 KOs) in a unification bout Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
The Axe man connected with a vicious overhand right, the fight-ender shot which earned him the WBA Featherweight title.
Walters first hurt Donaire in the 3rd round, making him touch the canvas after landing a left uppercut that seemed to take away Donaire's momentum.
Before the final round, the Filipino Flash already suffered multiple cuts above his right eye caused by the dynamic punches of the Jamaican knock out King.
"It's like fishing. You give him the bait and he comes," Walters said in an interview right after the fight. The statement perfectly described the fight plan of Walters as he baited Donaire into the canvas by using powerful jabs to setup his coup de grace.
